Channel / Google Shopping

Google will put a video
on your product. The only
question is whose.

Since 30 June 2026, Google Shopping serves the product video submitted in Merchant Center. In Performance Max, an advertiser who supplies no video in the three required orientations gets one generated from their assets automatically.

Straight off the pass. Both cuts started as a product photograph.

Cooked for

Video is no longer an optional asset in Google's shopping surfaces, it is a field with a default value. Supplying your own means the framing, the pace and the on-screen claim are yours. Not supplying it means the platform assembles something from your images, to its own taste, and serves it under your brand. Ogamama produces feed-ready cuts per SKU in the orientations Google expects, from the product photography already in your catalogue.

What ships

01

Three orientations per SKU

Landscape, square and vertical from one origin file, so the asset group is complete and Performance Max has no reason to generate its own.

02

Feed-safe encoding

Duration, bitrate and container inside Merchant Center tolerances, so the video attaches to the product rather than sitting in review.

03

Claims kept on screen

Ingredient, size and compliance callouts as burned text, which survives a muted autoplay and a feed crop.

04

Catalogue coverage

Priced and scheduled per SKU, because a shopping feed is judged on how much of the catalogue is complete, not on the hero product.

Why it moves the number

30 June 2026

Since that date Google Shopping serves the product video you submit in Merchant Center. In Performance Max, if you do not supply video in three orientations, Google generates it for you.

Google Merchant Center and Google Ads documentation, 2026

72%

Of retail media advertisers name video as one of their main off-site line items, on a channel worth $71.1bn in the United States in 2026.

eMarketer, January 2026

This is the one channel where doing nothing is itself a decision. The asset exists either way.

Questions

Does the video have to be different from our social cuts?

Yes, and this is where most catalogues lose. A feed video opens on the product, not on a person, and it has to read at the size a shopping tile is actually rendered. A Reels cut dropped into Merchant Center technically passes and commercially does nothing.

Can you produce for a feed of several thousand SKUs?

We produce for the part of the feed that carries the revenue, weighted rather than alphabetical. Covering everything is rarely the right spend, and we say which SKUs to skip.

Who uploads to Merchant Center?

You or your agency. We deliver named files matched to your item IDs so the upload is a mapping exercise rather than a manual one.

Start here

Judge the work, not the deck.

Most studios answer a brief with a deck and a rate card. We answer it with the film. Tell us what you sell and where you run ads, and the first thing you receive is a finished cut of your own product.

  • One SKU, one finished cut, back within two business days, at no cost.
  • A written production plan: formats, volumes, markets, timeline.
  • No retainer, no lock-in, month to month.

No call required to see the work. The full service log is right here.
