Amazon video requirements,
2026.

Five Amazon video assets, five different specifications. This is the whole set in one table, checked September 2026.

Amazon accepts five distinct video assets - listing video, A+ content video, Brand Story video, Brand Store video and Sponsored Brands Video - each with its own length, aspect ratio, resolution, file size and codec requirements. Third-party sellers need Brand Registry enrolment for these placements; first-party vendors publish through Vendor Central.

What trips sellers up most often

  1. Sponsored Brands Video is 16:9 only. A vertical asset produced for Reels will be rejected, every time.
  2. The 500MB ceiling. A 30-second 4K export routinely exceeds it. Re-encode rather than re-shoot.
  3. Missing or too-quiet audio. SBV requires an audio track at 96kbps or higher, even if the viewer will watch muted.
  4. Account type. Third-party sellers need Brand Registry for video placements; first-party vendors publish through Vendor Central instead. Check which you are before commissioning anything.
  5. Frame rate drift. Amazon accepts a discrete list - 23.976, 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97, 29.98 and 30 fps. Anything outside it, 60fps included, is rejected.

How often does Amazon change this?

Periodically and without much notice. Treat any spec sheet - including this one - as a snapshot. We verify at production time and re-encode at our cost if a delivered asset is rejected on spec.
