What it still
gets wrong.

A studio that only shows its best output is not telling you anything you can act on. This is the list of failures we screen for on every cut, published because the screening is the service.

Straight off the pass. Both cuts started as a product photograph.

Generative video is reliable on rigid products with clear packaging and unreliable on physical properties that require continuous simulation: fabric in motion, fast-poured transparent liquid, hinged mechanisms and sustained close interaction between a hand and a product. The failure is almost never the whole frame. It is a detail that a buyer notices and a producer has to catch.

The failures we screen for

  • Label drift. Text on packaging that shifts, warps or invents characters between frames. The single most common defect and the most damaging, because it is your brand name.
  • Material lies. Matte plastic rendered with the specular response of glass, or brushed metal that behaves like chrome. The shape is right and the material is wrong.
  • Hand and product physics. Finger counts, grip that does not carry weight, a cap that is held and turned in a way a real cap does not turn.
  • Scale drift. The product changing size relative to the hand or the surface across a move.
  • Continuity across cuts. Two shots of the same SKU that are not quite the same SKU. Cap colour, label position, proportion.
  • Liquid behaviour. Pouring, foaming and settling are continuous physical simulations. Slow motion hides less than people expect.

Categories we flag before quoting

Some products are structurally harder, and the honest position is to say so at quote stage rather than deliver something that fails review:

  • Apparel and any fabric whose selling property is how it moves.
  • Transparent liquids poured or agitated at speed.
  • Hinged, folding or mechanically articulated products where the mechanism is the point.
  • Anything needing a face and a product in close contact for a long unbroken take.

For these we recommend a hybrid: a small live shoot for the shots that need physics, generative production for everything around them. That is usually cheaper than a full shoot and more reliable than a full generation.

Why this list is the service

The generation step is the commodity. Anyone can buy it. What separates a usable ad from a rejected one is that somebody looked at every cut against a list like this one and sent the failures back to be re-rendered rather than shipped. Cuts that fail the pass are re-rendered, not delivered. If a cut does not hold up, you do not receive it.

What this means for your review

When you review any studio's work, including ours, look at the label first, then the hands, then the same SKU across two different shots. Those three checks catch most of what matters, and they are the checks a buyer's customer makes without knowing they are making them.
